Product Review: Planner Insert from Stacey of Star Struck Creations

Happy Holiday's Friends! I have the song running through my head pretty regularly lately as I hear it everywhere I go. What is your favorite carol? I love O Holy Night. How is your holiday shopping going? Mine is slowly coming together.

I was recently blessed by Stacey from Star Struck Creations with these fun planner inserts. So I am excited to share with you a review of her work and service.
Stacey sells a variety of items, cards, pet portraits, painted on glass pieces. She loves art. She hopes to be a stay at home mom in the woods working on her art one day. This is all part of her adventure to get to have that dream. Stacey approached me wondering if I could be her guinea pig in trying out a new product. So here we are with her planner inserts.

Stacey was great to work with. She asks great questions to find out what you like and tries to make her pieces suited to the individual. I shared with her about myself and what I do and how I love tea. She came up with these three great designs for me.
You Got This!!
I put this particular one at the beginning of my homeschool planning binder. It has been such a great reminder especially on the hard days when I am not up to teaching.
Create a Life you Love!
This is the second one in my planner. It daily is a great reminder of trying to look at the blessings and the positives and not focus on the negatives. I can sometimes get wrapped up in the hard parts of life and forget to build up and live in the parts that I love. Thank you, Stacey, for these two great reminders.

I like the simplicity of the designs of these first two. They are pretty but allow the words to stand out. I think she did a great job in designing them.
Life is like a cup of Tea, its all in how you make it.
This third one has to be my favorite by far. I love the color choices, how she designed the teacup and colored it and the highlighting and various colors she used in the lettering.

All three are very sturdy. They are laminated and hole punched for you when they arrive. I could have taken them from the package and put them right in my planner. But with the crazy life of a mom, it took me a little longer to get them in. I think this is a great product. So fun to turn the page and see these fun sayings, art, and great reminders. They bring sunshine to my day and make me smile.

Stacey, as I mentioned, is great to work with. Her products are lovely. I loved her little note that she sent in the package. I think my only critique would be to see a little more branding. Maybe having her shop name on the back of the inserts or such. Keep up the great work Stacey. I hope that you are able to see your dream become a reality in the near future.

Meet the Maker: Wendy and Sarah from Drawn East Boutique

Hi, friends. How has your week been? It's Fri-Yay! What interesting Small Shops have you discovered? We would love to hear about them. Leave a comment or email me. If you are a small shop and you would like a feature then please email me or join in our Follow Friday feature giveaway. Starting July 1, we will have our Christmas in July Craft Challenge. Stay Tuned for info.

For this feature, I had the pleasure of interviewing two makers, Wendy and Sarah, who work together.

Wendy and Sarah where are you ladies from and where do you live now?
We are both from Nova Scotia. Wendy lives there still, Sarah lives in Ontario.

How long have you two been crafting?
We have both been artists our entire lives, it's how we became such close friends. That is so fun that crafting helped you become close friends.

How did it come about that you two work together, and the field that you are in?
We decided that with our various skills, between the two of us, making art was pretty easy. We both have day jobs, so we wanted to find a medium that made it relatively easy for us to sell. Downloadable art was the way to go! No worries about printing and shipping for us. That is so great you were able to figure all of that out.

When did you start selling online?
We started selling online recently, just this March. Oh wow, so this is really new to both of you.

What are your hopes for the future for the Drawn East Boutique?
Our hopes for this business are that we can build up a good fan/customer base and then hopefully our art will do the heavy lifting! That is great. I wish you all the best with that.

What are your favorite pieces that you have both created so far?
Wendy's favorite piece is the "Zero Fox Given" print.
Sarah's is the "It's just a phase" moon print. These are fun pieces.

What advice to you give other makers looking into going into selling their craft?
One thing we would like to share with anyone hoping to get into a crafting business is to embrace all forms of social media! Get the word out about your craft. This is so true and great advice. Thanks for joining us today ladies. I wish you all the best with your beautiful and fun pieces of artwork.
