Spring Creek Park

This park has to be one of our favorites.
We had the chance to have a picnic lunch here today. Or if you are like me some days when I come up with the idea of having a picnic on a whim there is a McDonalds located less then 5 miles away! Such a beautiful day to enjoy being outside....
This park offers so much on it's 34 acres.
-playground, sand pit, swings (including infant swings!), climbing wall (smaller then Central Parklet) picnic pavilions, sand volleyball, tennis courts, basketball area, paved path's, softball and baseball fields, fitness unit (not sure what that means haven't seen it yet) covered bridge, of course the creek (big wading area in the summer) fishing, and a super big plus with little ones are bathrooms!

You can come here and spend the whole day playing in the water, sand, playground or wandering the fields looking at the view of Mt Nittany...
The kids love climbing on these round cylinder cement toy they have and doing the zip line. In the summer we come with friends almost weekly to play sand volleyball...
There used to be a cache located at this park but I believe it has been shut down but if you want to check out the geocaching scene check out the web site
www.geocaching.com
this is another great way to get out and see all of the parks around...

Pro's: shaded, lots of areas of interest to cover all in your family, great for picnics, bathrooms (seasonal),
easy accessible
con's: can get crowded if all the pavilions are rented, parking can be a problem if pavilions are rented, entrance can be hard to spot for first timers
location:
Two park entrances:
1.
901 Houserville Rd.
2. and off
Puddintown Road (to 151 Spring Creek Park Road)
State College, PA.
