Paper Christmas Tree
Hi everyone, it’s time for my second craft for the Christmas in July crafting challenge. For the second one, I’ve chosen another fast, easy to do a craft that is pretty cute and fun to do; a paper Christmas tree. Kids who can handle scissors and glue will enjoy this.
I was inspired by one I saw at the Krokotak website, there is a video tutorial for making it and you’ll find a link to that below after the photo tutorial.
To make the paper Christmas tree you’ll need Paper (I used computer paper), scissors, a glue stick and any small items you might want to decorate it with. Notice that my paper isn’t square - it needs to be.
In the #1, 2 and 3 photos below you can see how I folded over my paper and trimmed off the edge piece this will make it square. Then in #4 photo, I cut strips into the triangle toward the fold. I cut toward the fold almost to it but not through until I got to the short end. I didn’t measure but if you want yours perfectly even get a ruler and place dots to guide your cutting. In picture #5 you can see what it looks like when open.
Once you have them all glued Your tree will look like image #1 in the photo below then you’ll need to fold up the bottom of the tree and glue that down as in image #2. Next, cut a square from a piece of brown paper and glue that behind the tree to make the base.
