Christmas Craft Challenge Day 14 and Meet the Maker Julia Halasz-tadajewski from The Stitch is Back and More

Hi, friends! How are you? How has your week been? We have enjoyed having the girls sell at the local craft shows in our area. It is so fun that they offer opportunities for kids. Our oldest had the opportunity to sell with her friend again on Wednesday at the Peoples Choice Festival.

What have you been working on this way? You can enter any craft into our challenge or do one of the ones that we have shared. Please share below in the comments or in our DIY Facebook group.

One of my favorite times of the week is posting my interviews with other makers. I love getting to know them and share them with you. This Friday's interview is with Julia Halasz-tadajewski from The Stitch is Back and More. Without further ado let me introduce Julia to you.

Where are you from?
I was born and raised in South Bend, Indiana

Where do you live now?
Living in South Bend, Indiana
That's fun you have stayed in your hometown.
How long have you been crafting?
I've been crafting since my 4H days so 40+ years
Wow, that's amazing, how fun you did a 4H club.

What drew you to needlework or what inspired you?
My mom is my inspiration. Although she wasn't much of a knitter her needlework, cruel embroidery and cross stitch are always and inspiration.
That's fun your mom inspires you. So does my own mom.
When did you start selling on-line?
I just celebrated my 1 year on Etsy.
Happy Anniversary. That's wonderful. We are also approaching 1 year as well.

And What drew you to sell on-line? Encouragement from family and friends. For the past 5 years I've held a holiday sale in my home for family and friends and kept hearing I need to sell online so they can purchase year round. What such great encouragement. That's wonderful.
What hopes do you have for your business in the future?
I would love to have a year-round booth at our local Farmers Market.
That sounds like it would be a lot of fun.

What is your most favorite piece that you have made?
I would say my baby hats with fur pompoms.
These sound sweet.

What is one thing you would love to share with others who are considering going into the handmade business? Make something they love. Start small and increase gradually. I would also tell them not to underprice themselves. This is great advice.
